Hard-Pressed is a volunteer-run community printshop, library and zine archive, with a special interest in self-publishing and producing slow-media made by humans. We offer financially accessible, intergenerational, curiosity-forward programming with a focus on collaborations, community events, and printing work that is pertinent to our times!
We believe that printing is a vessel for connection. It is a trade that supports creative and intentional expression, resource sharing, and collective action. A printshop is a place to consider, to struggle, think again, and then move forward. It is a place of radical imagination, of revolution. With the power of the press and the vitality of our community, we create opportunities for folks to intentionally participate in change-making through printed materials. By using old machines and techniques, we make haste slowly!
